It makes sense: temperatures rise, and so does our thirst. If you’re hosting this summer, and planning on getting a few 10-cent refunds, read on for our top tips for the social season.
Successful events are all about planning, so think ahead of time about where you’d like people to put their empties. A couple of plastic tubs in the backyard and a quick word on what goes in them should do the trick.
If you’re holidaying with friends and family, whether that’s camping or at a holiday house, centralise your container collections. It’s much easier to keep all your empties in one place, and then return them on a trip to town or to the supermarket.
Speaking of which, if you’re heading out of town, your handiest refund point won’t be your usual. Head to our locations map to find permanent spots. While you’re there, check who the zone operator is in your holiday destination and head to their socials to see if they’re doing any pop-up refund points over summer.
The three CDS Vic apps – CDS Vic West, CDS Vic North, and CDS Vic East – are handy year-round, but they really shine over the busy summer months. On each of the apps, you can find live information about each refund point and whether it is currently operational. Save yourself some time, we say.
Why not get into the giving spirit this festive season? There are thousands of clubs, charities, and community groups registered with us as donation partners, and they would love your 10-cent refund if you can spare it. Head here to learn more about donating your refund.
You probably wouldn’t go to the supermarket on Christmas Eve if you could help it, so by the same token, think about when refund points are likely to be busy in your area, and avoid those times. Boxing Day, 2 January, and Sunday afternoons as people head back home would be moments to keep in mind.
