Meet the mascot

Who is Can-Do?

Who is Can-Do, you ask? Legend has it that Can-Do was born in a Depot, where the sound of clinking containers sparked a passion for recycling and protecting Victoria’s environment. Now, Can-Do is on a mission to inspire Victorians to return as many containers as possible and help make our state cleaner and greener!

Launched as part of CDS Vic’s commitment to building a circular economy, Can-Do was created to bring recycling to life. This enthusiastic, bubbly and friendly mascot represents the importance of small actions - like returning eligible drink containers - adding up to a big impact for the environment.

Can-Do makes recycling fun and approachable, showing Victorians that recycling isn’t just good for the planet - it's something we can all be proud to do together.

Engaging communities across Victoria

Can-Do has been busy travelling across Victoria, sparking conversations about recycling and sustainability. A star attraction at events like the Message in a Bottle installation launch at Scienceworks, Can-Do has delighted families and children, teaching them about the recycling process in a fun and interactive way.

Recently, Can-Do joined the vibrant celebrations at the Melbourne Diwali Festival, embracing the colours, culture, and community spirit. Dancing alongside performers and connecting with festivalgoers, Can-Do shared the message that recycling benefits everyone.

Can-Do also hopped aboard a CDS Vic branded tram for a photoshoot, bringing recycling awareness to Melbourne’s bustling streets.

On social media, Can-Do has become a fan favourite, featuring in videos and photos with stakeholders. From sharing recycling tips to rocking a Movember moustache, Can-Do’s vibrant digital presence has helped CDS Vic reach thousands of Victorians with engaging and educational content.

Inspiring behaviour change

Through Can-Do, CDS Vic has simplified the recycling message, making it clear and fun. By putting a friendly face to the scheme, Can-Do is showing people how easy it is to return containers, earn a refund, and contribute to a cleaner Victoria.

Looking ahead

The journey for Can-Do has just begun. In 2025, you’ll see Can-Do continuing to inspire communities across Victoria through events, partnerships, and exciting campaigns. Stay tuned to see what Can-Do gets up to next!
