CDS Vic has partnered with the Good Friday Appeal as its first statewide donation partner to help raise money for Melbourne's Royal Children’s Hospital, which provides world class care for sick children and their families.
On Good Friday, VicReturn's Chief Communications, Marketing and Engagement Officer, Marianne Doyle, presented the Good Friday Appeal with a cheque for $32,588. VicReturn operates CDS Vic.
To present the cheque, Marianne teamed up with Sonny, a past patient whose life was saved by the Royal Children’s Hospital as a baby, and his twin brother, Lennie. Sonny is now 8 years old and fundraising for the Good Friday Appeal by collecting bottles for the container deposit scheme.
Marianne said, “It’s an incredible amount raised in a short time, and we’d like to do a big shout out to all Victorians who have donated their drink container refunds to the Good Friday Appeal – thank you!”
We’ve still got another month to go before we present the final donation total. Help us to support the important work of the Royal Children’s Hospital by returning your eligible containers and donating your refund to the Good Friday Appeal.
You'll see the Good Friday Appeal promoted at CDS Vic refund points across the state until the end of May, making it easy to donate your drink container refunds. Most drink containers between 150ml and 3 litres are eligible for the 10 cent refund. Just look for the 10c mark on the label.
