CDS Vic provides a 10 cent refund for every eligible drink container returned. Each bottle, can and carton that you return helps to divert valuable containers from landfill.
There are hundreds of refund points across Victoria, so look out for your local. The network has more than 600 refund points.

In partnership with city councils, these baskets offer a new way to recycle containers on the go.

In the regional category, we awarded the Phillip Island Football Netball Club, where container collections are led by Jess Gislingham. Nicknamed the Can Man, Jess is a beloved presence at the club. His efforts have raised more than $6000.
Club President Chris Ross was full of praise.
“It’s a fantastic effort by Jess and his family. The money that we’ve raised has gone to equipment, and this year Jess has kindly bought a defib for our netball courts.”
“He’s thought of highly about this place.”
In the metro category, Maribyrnong Park Football took out the honours. As in Phillip Island, CDS Vic collections have become a key income stream for the club.
“We saw it as a really good opportunity to give back to the community,” said Coach Darin Milner. “It teaches the kids something special about recycling.”
“We’d love to be able to get to around $5000 this season, we’re trying to get other people involved,” said club member Tony Fisher.
Maribyrnong Park volunteers collect containers consumed at the grounds, but also encourage members to bring containers from home too. For a club that’s so embedded in its community, it’s fundraising that makes sense.
CDS Vic ambassador Tom De Koning was on hand to congratulate the Marby crew, share some new footies and provide some inspiration for young players. Along with Darcy Vescio, who visited the Phillip Island club, Tom’s message for footy fans across the state is clear: get collecting and help your club and your environment.
