Start a fundraiser

Don’t leave money in the bin. You can include CDS Vic in your fundraising. Collecting and returning drink containers from your community can raise money for your organisation. Eligible containers can be returned for a 10-cent refund. Start collecting, and you’ll be turning recycling into cash to spend on what you need.

How to get started

Whether you’re a school, sports club, charity, or community organisation, your community can support you and without it costing them anything.

You can sign up to receive donations directly, or collect containers from your supporters and return them yourself. It’s money in your organisation’s pocket.

Fundraising with CDS Vic can also help you to:
• foster community connection
• create leadership opportunities
• help kids and young people learn about recycling

Put a couple of bins around your club or venue, or return your own containers from home. When this is going well, you can scale up.

Decide where you’ll keep your containers, and who will return them. Good signs and bin stickers will help people to put containers in the right place.

Tell your community about your fundraiser with posters, bin stickers, casual chats, social media posts and more. We have lots of free resources for you.

Registering with us means you can receive donations directly from your supporters when they make their returns. Plus, we’ll keep you in the loop about all things CDS Vic.
